Collegeville sits immediately next to Skippack, where Hardwood Flooring by Christopher is based, which makes it one of the closest communities we serve. The borough grew up around Ursinus College and the Perkiomen Creek, and its housing runs from nineteenth century homes near the old town center out to the newer developments in Upper and Lower Providence. That range means refinishing an aged floor and installing a new one are equally routine here. Christopher Gross oversees every project personally, from subfloor preparation through the final coat.
Dust-Controlled Refinishing
Our sanding equipment captures dust at the source instead of letting it drift through the house, which is what makes refinishing practical in a home you are still living in.
Minutes From Skippack
Collegeville sits directly next to our home base, so scheduling, site visits and follow-up are straightforward rather than something to work around.
Custom Stain Matching
Test patches are applied on site and adjusted until the color is right, which is what allows new work to sit seamlessly beside floors that are already down.
Hardwood, Vinyl and Tile
One craftsman for the whole floor plan, from hardwood in the main rooms to luxury vinyl in the lower level and tile in the bathrooms and entry.
Trusted by homeowners across Montgomery County.

Sanding & Refinishing“Chris and his team did an AWESOME job for us. They came in while we were on vacation and knocked out taking our old 2" oak plank up and laying down a beautiful 4" walnut plank. Not only was Chris and his team very courteous, they put back furniture in place. Looked like no one was ever here! Definitely recommend them for your next flooring project.”

Hardwood Installation“I couldn't be happier with the work done by Hardwood Flooring by Christopher! From start to finish, the experience was professional, smooth, and stress-free. Chris and his team refinished our original hardwood floors and installed new wide plank oak in our addition. They showed up on time, kept the work area clean, and explained each step along the way. The attention to detail really sets them apart.”

Sanding & RefinishingCovering Collegeville and the Perkiomen corridor.
We serve homeowners throughout the borough and the surrounding townships, from the older streets near the creek to the newer developments in Upper and Lower Providence.
Collegeville Borough
The borough center around Main Street and the Perkiomen Creek holds Collegeville's oldest housing, much of it dating to the decades around its incorporation in 1896. Floors in these homes are usually solid wood and usually worth refinishing rather than replacing.
- Dust-controlled sanding and refinishing
- Board repair and partial replacement
- Stain matching for aged floors
Upper and Lower Providence
The townships surrounding the borough carry most of the newer construction, from the developments off Ridge Pike to the larger homes near Evansburg State Park. New builds and recent renovations are where whole-floor installation and luxury vinyl come into their own.
- New construction hardwood installation
- Luxury vinyl for kitchens and lower levels
- Tile for bathrooms and entryways
Trappe, Skippack and Schwenksville
The neighboring boroughs along the Perkiomen corridor share Collegeville's mix of period homes and newer development. Skippack is our home base, so the whole of this corridor is served with short notice and easy follow-up.

A College Town on the Perkiomen, Minutes From Our Workshop
Collegeville grew up around Ursinus College and the creek that runs beside it, and the borough still shows that history in its streets. Homes here span more than a century of construction, which means refinishing a floor that has been down for decades and laying a new one are both everyday work for us.
Ursinus College
Est. 1869The college the borough is named for, and the institution that has shaped Collegeville since well before it was incorporated. Its presence has kept the surrounding streets residential and well maintained for over 150 years.
Perkiomen Bridge
Built 1798One of the oldest stone arch bridges in Pennsylvania still carrying traffic, crossing the Perkiomen Creek at the edge of the borough. It marks the historic center of Collegeville and the age of the housing around it.
Perkiomen Trail
Regional GreenwayThe trail follows the creek through Collegeville and links the borough north toward Schwenksville and south toward the Schuylkill River, connecting a string of communities with comparable homes and comparable floors.
Evansburg State Park
3,349 AcresA large state park immediately west of the borough, preserving open land through Lower Providence Township and giving the newer developments nearby their setting.
Borough of Trappe
Adjoining BoroughCollegeville's immediate neighbor to the west shares its history and much of its housing stock, including some of the oldest surviving buildings in this part of Montgomery County.
Skippack Village
Our Home BaseHardwood Flooring by Christopher works out of Skippack, a short drive east along Route 113. That proximity is why Collegeville projects are among the easiest for us to schedule and revisit.
Common questions from Collegeville homeowners.
Do you serve Collegeville and the surrounding townships?
Yes. Collegeville is one of the closest communities to our home base in Skippack, and we work throughout the borough as well as Trappe, Upper Providence, Lower Providence and Schwenksville. Christopher oversees every project personally.
How dusty is refinishing, and can we stay in the house?
Our sanding equipment captures dust at the source rather than releasing it into the rest of the house, and we set protective coverings through the work area. Most homeowners stay put, closing off the room being finished. No sanding is completely dust free, but it is a long way from the open sanding many people picture.
How long does a refinishing project take from start to finish?
For a typical room or two the sanding and coating runs a few days, with drying time between coats being the part that sets the schedule rather than the labor itself. We give you the timeline for your specific floor and finish at the estimate, including when the room is walkable again and when furniture can return.
Should an older Collegeville floor be refinished or replaced?
It depends how much wood remains above the tongue and groove. Every refinishing removes a little material, so a floor sanded several times already may not take another pass. We measure rather than assume, and if replacement is genuinely the better option we will say so and explain why.
Do you install luxury vinyl and tile as well as hardwood?
Yes. Alongside hardwood installation and refinishing we install luxury vinyl plank, which suits kitchens, lower levels and mudrooms well, and tile for bathrooms, entryways and laundry rooms. Having one craftsman across the whole floor plan keeps transitions between materials clean.
How far out are you booking for Collegeville?
Christopher typically books two to four weeks out for Montgomery County work, with spring and fall the busiest stretches. Because Collegeville is a short drive from Skippack, site visits and follow-up are usually easy to arrange. On-site estimates are free.
